This small brick building sits in the middle of a diamond shaped traffic island that is groomed like a park, but there is parking on the right in front of the Welcome Center as you pull onto December Drive. To your left down towards the Highway is "Santa Garden" which contains some nicely groomed & laid out pathways with excellent benches to rest on, plus "Santa's Chapel" near the center - a tall, spired wood building featuring beautiful windows and wood paneling. Be sure to go in and admire the light coming in and the rustic simplicity & fine woodwork, plus those stained glass windows, and do like me & leave a donation on the way out to help the city keep the park and church up.
My wife & I toured the park, mailed some letters, it was Sunday so we couldn't go in the Town Hall / Post Office. The Welcome Center is also apparently closed on Sundays. It was a nice visit, it took us about an hour of walking around, and may have taken a bit longer had the Welcome Center been open.
Everything is RIGHT around THERE so you can park & walk around, plus there's a quicky mart on the corner if you're taking a break on a long drive.
